Making cabinets (part 1)

After the face frame was glued up (see the prior post). I spent time on the driveway with the circular saw to cut plywood panels for the cabinets.

I grabbed the trusty old Makita saw, my cutting guide, and a sheet of foam insulation and got to work. No chip-out and perfect cuts. Who needs a track saw?!


After a day's work, the shell of the island is put together! All I have to do is add the divider panels in the middle, some supports for the countertop, and then sand. After all that's done, off to paint!


It's nice to see progress being made!
