The best-laid schemes

I envisioned the white, yellow, and purple crocuses blooming at the same time. They did not! We now have purple blooms, but the white and yellow are spent. Oh well! Notes made for next year. These must be the Tommies and Vanguard varieties that were part of the "crocus tapestry" set from Old House Gardens that I planted in the fall.

I think this little purple guy is Turkish Glory of the Snow, but I have some doubts about that. The red foliage is a surprise and the clustered flower looks more like a hyacinth? I have no idea. Perhaps it needs a little more time to fulfill its destiny.

Imposter? Youngster? Who are you, mystery flower?
I'm slightly disappointed at the bulb showing so far this year. It seems we planted SO MANY in the fall, but maybe 110 bulbs is really only a good start. Maybe I will be wowed by the tulips and daffodils. (Maybe I will be dropping more $$ at Old House Gardens.)
