Tomatoes and fog horns in August

Today, Sunday, August 9, saw the harvest of our first heirloom tomato. Isn't it an absolute beast?

Black Krim: what a monster!
We are enjoying the temperate morning on the patio with coffee (Mr. H.), cherry juice (me), and the Sunday paper. Mr. H. is researching preserving recipes in my Ball canning books. He is expecting a bountiful tomato harvest!

The foghorn is sounding in the distance on Lake Michigan. Warm, yet foggy.

Lucy seems to be enjoying the uncharacteristically lazy morning as much as we are.

Relaxing outside is so...exhausting.
