Building a base in the front yard

After wishing the giant blue spruce a sincere farewell, we turned our attention to adding some foundation plantings around which to add visual interest.

The gnarly yews came out.

New choices: boxwood ("Green Velvet") and forsythia ("Magical Gold" with "prolific flowering") for early spring color.

Little for now, but watch them grow!

We added blueberries ("Chippewa"), and asparagus.
Photo taken before asparagus made it in the ground.
Coming later: hydrangea ("Blue Jangles"), sedum ("Cherry Tart"), vibernum ("Carlesii Compacta"), leptodermis. Flowers and others as we decide.
