Garden dinner: late summer edition

We made a lovely dinner tonight using almost entirely produce from the garden. Mr. H. even took pictures of the plates on the table, but...the camera ate the pictures and then we ate the dinner. Sorry.

I'll just tell you about it instead. Mr. H. fried blue potatoes, freshly pulled from the ground. I spiralized yellow squash into noodles. In our biggest skillet, we sauteed onion*, wilted kale, added tomato wedges to soften and release some of their liquid, and added the squash noodles at the very end. After draining off some of the tomato liquid, we tossed the skillet contents with an herb cream sauce I made (chives, tarragon, basil, butter*, vegetable stock, heavy cream*). The squash pasta dish was topped with the fried potatoes and a sprinkling of hard cheese*.

It was happy cooking, indeed! Happy eating, too!

One of my favorite Frenchmen. Happy cooking to you, Jacques!.
