A few years ago, Mr. H. harvested so many jalapenos from his container gardening that we made jalapeno poppers and stashed them in the freezer. A very delicious thing to have on hand for snacking!
We aren't quite there with this year's crop, but we used one in tonight's dinner.
(I made chard bundles stuffed with red pepper and bulgar, an utterly forgettable recipe, but at least we didn't have to make a run to Culvers as has occurred with other recipe attempts. Jack Bishop's cookbook A Year in a Vegetarian Kitchen is quite a disappointment, other than one or two keepers. Bland, boring, some troublesome textures...does anyone want a free cookbook? At least we had delicious watermelon for dessert.)

Keep on poppin' 'em out, Mr. Jalapeno! |
