The peonies are every bit as wonderful as I thought they might be.

In addition to this table full of flowers, I took three blooms to work this week!
The mystery bush in the backyard (see May 3, "Other backyard happenings") is a lilac after all! An enormous lilac bush, good heavens! The scent is unmistakable.
Sigh. Contented sigh. I love peonies. And also lilacs, I suppose. (I will take what I can get.)
The polar vortex seems so long ago.
Oh no, did I jinx it?
